PBIS
North College Hill Middle School
Positive Based Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
What is PBIS?
PBIS is an implementation framework for maximizing the selection and use of evidence-based prevention and interventions practices that supports the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral supports and success of all students
PBIS implementation involves explicitly prompting, modeling, practicing, reinforcing, and encouraging positive expected social skills within the school. When students are taught to effectively use relevant expected social skills for themselves and with others, school climates are described as more positive, learning environments are safer, and student to teacher relationships are referred to as more trusting and respectful.
Mission Statement
The mission of the North College Hill Middle School team is to foster and promote a safe and positive school environment that enhances student learning through teaching and recognizing positive behavior.
